A model life: Deepika Padukone turns trainer for female fans

Padukone hand-picks 10 fans and grooms them to walk the ramp alongside her. She will offer them a taste of what it’s like being a professional model, and guide them through all the preparatory experiences that one goes through before hitting the ramp.

has chosen 10 female fans of hers from across the country to walk the ramp with her at a fashion event.



She will offer them a taste of what it’s like being a professional model, and guide them through all the preparatory experiences that one goes through before hitting the ramp, such as rehearsing and grooming.



"I have been through that process myself. I will make it as memorable and special for them. We have got a very good make-up team, which will get them ready for the show, and a top name will choreograph it. I remember the time when I was a model, and I remember all the excitement backstage. I want them to experience that as well. I will spend time with them, chat and groom them so that they go back with great memories," says Deepika.



Deepika says this is her way of expressing gratitude towards her fans. "I have always been grateful to my fans and, in whatever little way, I have always tried to give back," says Deepika.

She adds that the fans were chosen at random.

"I thought it would be interesting to pick girls who identify with the way I dress. We haven’t selected them on the basis of their looks, height or whether they are experienced models. It was a random pick from the entries we had," says Deepika, who will also join them on the ramp at the event that will be held on April 10.
