Designer Rocky S's second show at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week today was a welcome change from his disastrous outing earlier in the week.
The designer, who is all set to launch his men's wear line next year, had named his WIFW collection Rock S Noir. It was his tribute to the greatest mystery of mankind - the enigmatic woman.
The show reflected the journey of a woman through her various moods, right from her girlie charm to the coy damsel, finally transcending into the sensual maiden.
"My collection tells the story of a young innocent girl blooming into a flirtatious woman. And next year I will launch my men's line too," Rocky S said.
Capturing the varied emotions was a colour palette of elemental midnight black and elegant ivory tones blended with deep maroon and sun-kissed hues of rust orange.
The silhouettes moved from schoolgirl dresses and minis to pleated skirts and body skimming drapes. There were tonal-texture innovative fabric details, unfinished chiffon strips used to give a faux-fur like trim to shirt collars and cuffs, minimal shine, bugle beads and sequins.
Peach finished poplin, georgette and chiffon with a hint of metallic shine by way of satin accents and enhanced with handwork lace were used to create the outfits.
Commenting on a show sans stars Rocky said: "In my previous show, (Bollywood star) Lara Dutta walked the ramp and many other celebrities attended the show. But this time, I wanted clothes to be the stars on the runway. Moreover, I had not designed anything keeping any star in mind."
"Among stars I like the most are Bipasha Basu, Shilpa Shetty, Dia Mirza and Katrina Kaif," said Rocky.
