The deceased were identified as Gajender Gujjar alias Tinku and his wife Meenakshi. They were married three years ago and often fought over petty issues.

Gajender allegedly left behind a suicide note, which blames his in-laws for interfering in his personal life and harassing him. He also apologized to his parents for taking the extreme step.

Gajender was a final year student of Manav Rachna Engineering College in Faridabad and would have graduated in four months while Meenakshi was a graduate from the Gurgaon government college. Since their marriage, they reportedly did not get along well. Though their families tried to unite them but things were never resolved.
