Is your department aware of illegal parking lots operating in Gurgaon?
Yes, we keep receiving complaints off and on that some people in various localities or markets are illegally charging parking fees from commuters.

Does the department take any action on such complaints?
Whenever we receive a complaint, we inform the area police station, which files an FIR against the accused and takes appropriate action against them.

It has been observed that the basement parking lots in commercial and office buildings in Gurgaon are sold to the occupants and visitors are forced to park either in the unauthorised parking lots outside these buildings or along the roads. Do you have any solution for this?
We have directed the owners of commercial and office buildings not to sell their basement parking lots and allow visitors to park their vehicles inside their premises. However, some owners of such buildings have violated the directive.

Have you initiated any action against the unauthorised parking lots being run in Gurgaon?
We have asked Huda and the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) to provide us a list of the parking lots. After receiving the list, we would be able to identify and act against the unauthorised parking lots.

Commuters allege that there is a nexus between unauthorised parking operators and the traffic police department. What is your take?
We do not have any such information so far.
