The administration made the announcement just 10 minutes before the examination was about to commence at 2pm. The examination will now be held on January 19.

The examination was cancelled at Guru Dronacharya Government College on Railway Road and Government Girls College on Mehrauli Road. The students were taking the compartment examination.

The authorities of both colleges had a difficult time pacifying the students, who expressed resentment over the move.

“The college administration announced at 1.50pm that the exam of information communication and technology — a part of BEd examination syllabus — will now take place on January 19,” said Kaveri, a student, who came from a remote area in south Haryana.

Meanwhile, the managements of both the colleges said they too had not been informed earlier by the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU).

“We got the information just a few minutes before the exam was about to begin,” said Ashok Diwakar, principal, Government Girls College.
