Two girls molested in Gurugram; auto driver, minor held
Two teenaged girls were allegedly sexually assaulted by a minor boy and an auto rickshaw driver in separate cases, police said on Friday.
In the first case, a 16-year-old boy allegedly tried to rape a 16-year-old girl, who is his neighbour, in Peer Colony in Sohna on Thursday, police said.
The girl was alone at her house when the accused entered the house and tried to force himself on her, Mukesh Kumar, assistant sub-inspector, who is the investigating officer in the case, said.
“The accused gagged her with one hand and touched her inappropriately. When she tried to raise an alarm, he slapped and threatened her. At this point, the girl’s father arrived and the accused ran away. She then narrated the incident to her father,” Kumar said.
An FIR was registered at Sohna City Police Station under sections 6 and 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on Thursday.
The boy was apprehended from his residence later in the day. On Friday, he was produced before the juvenile justice board and later sent to an observation home in Faridabad, police said.
In the other case, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a 25-year-old driver of the auto-rickshaw she was travelling in. The incident took place near Hero Honda crossing on Thursday night, police said. He was arrested on Friday and sent to jail for 14 days.
The girl told police that the accused was drunk at the time of the incident.
On Thursday night, the girl boarded the auto on her way home from Kadipur. When they reached near a temple, the auto driver asked her to get down, as he won’t be going any further, sub-inspector Sushila, the investigating officer in the case, said.
The girl told police that he dropped her at 9.30pm, only to return a while later, and asked her to board the vehicle.
“As she refused, the accused forcibly pulled her into the vehicle, touched her inappropriately and beat her up. As she screamed for help, the accused fled,” the SI said.
An FIR was registered at Sohna City Police Station under Section 6 of POCSO Act.
He was arrested on Friday after the police tracked him down using his auto rickshaw’s registration number.
In another case, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her elder brothers-in-law at the ‘behest’ of her husband at their house in Sohna on July 5, police said on Friday.
Police said the woman’s 25-year-old husband and his 47-year-old elder brother were booked on Thursday after medical examination on her confirmed rape. No arrest has been made so far. An FIR was registered on Thursday on the basis of the complaint lodged.
