With the Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) shifting the water utilities at Hero Honda Chowk and Rajiv Chowk, supply to a large part of the city will be curtailed on Thursday and Friday.

The Huda will also shut the Basai water treatment plant for 24 hours so that the master pipelines can be shifted at Hero Honda Chowk and Rajiv Chowk on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. (HT Photo)

The Huda will also shut the Basai water treatment plant for 24 hours so that the master pipelines can be shifted. The shifting of utilities is needed for the construction of underpasses at these two critical intersections on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.

Water supply to all phases in DLF, Sushant Lok, and HUDA sectors that include 30, 31, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, 43, 44, 14, 15 Part-I, 15 Part-II, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, and sector 29 will remain affected.

Condominiums along the MG Road, malls and commercial offices are also likely to be hit by the curtailment in supply.

Huda officials said the master pipeline which connects Basai water treatment plant with the booster station in Sector 16 will be the most affected by the shifting process.

The master pipeline has to be shifted as it is coming in the way of the alignment of the underpasses that are being built on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway. The authority has been asked by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to shift this pipeline for the construction of the underpasses.

Huda SDO Vijender Malik said four connections would be made for the new pipeline — two each at Rajiv Chowk and Hero Honda Chowk.
