The first and the last seven days after menses are considered safe. The days of the menses too are safe. In a woman with a regular menstrual cycle, the mid-cycle period is considered high-risk for pregnancy. Days 10-20 are usually considered high-risk days for pregnancy. But there are exceptions to these rules. The menstrual cycle of a woman varies from time to time. Irregularity of the menstrual cycle during a woman’s lifetime is common.
