The first and the last seven days after menses are considered safe. The days of the menses too are safe. In a woman with a regular menstrual cycle, the mid-cycle period is considered high-risk for pregnancy. Days 10-20 are usually considered high-risk days for pregnancy. But there are exceptions to these rules. The menstrual cycle of a woman varies from time to time. Irregularity of the menstrual cycle during a woman’s lifetime is common. Consult a gynaecologist for details.

I’m 28 and have been married for eight months. I’m stressed at work. My sex life is bad. Is stress the reason?

Yes. Relax. Why get stressed? Sex involves emotions. Mental stress does play havoc with one’s sex life. Temporary impotence is common in every couple’s life. The problem is usually self-resolving. Enjoy each other’s company. Since you enjoyed sex in the past, you will have a good sex life again. Try mutual masturbation. If the problem persists, consult a psychiatrist. Yoga and meditation may help you to relax.
