Alternate healer Soniya Bhagiyaa tells Prema K about how she helped her client to overcome a midlife crisis.

Rita Soni (name changed) is in her mid-40s. She had a late marriage. She developed some problems a few years after her marriage.

She got irritated easily and was uneasy all the time. She even developed body pain and suffered from low self-esteem. She also complained of mood swings and felt as if she couldn’t cope with life any more. To make matters worse, she had missed her periods for five consecutive months. A visit to the gynaecologist did not help. Everyone assumed that she had reached menopause.

Late marriage
Although Rita had mentally prepared herself for menopause, she felt bad that it was accompanied by so many ailments. She shared a decent relationship with her husband but was worried that her problems would affect her marriage. She approached Soniya Bhagiyaa. Soniya asked her to reveal a bit about herself. Gradually, the mystery unfolded.

Soniya says, “Rita’s father passed away when she was very young. She had to take charge of her family, comprising of her mother and younger siblings. She was only a teenager then. She took up a job and became the man of the house.” That was one of the main reasons for her late marriage. She wanted her siblings settled before thinking of her own marriage. The relationship between her parents hadn’t been a healthy one. Soniya adds, “This was also one of the reasons why she had been put off by the idea of marriage. Besides, playing the role of the man of the house had made her lose touch with her feminine side.”

Normal woman
She was convinced that she wasn’t a normal woman. This was the core of her problem. There was an imbalance of the masculine and feminine energies in her body. Although marriage was a new experience, ultimately her past experiences created problems for her. Soniyaa explained why she attracted negative situations in her life.

Soniya states, “Our thoughts influence our physical and emotional state. I helped Rita to understand the situation. She was comfortable with everything I told her. That was the beginning of the healing process.”

Integrated healing techniques
Soniya adopted the integrated approach of healing using a mix of hypnotherapy (to get information about her childhood), colour therapy, (advising her on the right colours to wear and the ones to avoid) along with aura cleansing and healing. Soniya adds, “I also asked her to enhance some corners of her house. This was to balance the energy in her surroundings..”

Next was a set of mirror exercises. This involves looking at one’s mirror image and saying positive things (affirmations) about oneself. Rita was advised to wear rose quartz and sphatik beads. Soniya explains, “This is crystal therapy, which gives quick results. Rita was cured within 15 sessions. Now she feels proud of the fact that she’s a woman.”
