Here is a quick fix to prevent tooth decay.

Oral hygiene: Good oral hygiene is the best way to keep tooth problems at bay. Brush two times a day with fluoridates toothpaste. Full bristle length tooth paste is recommended for everyone above 12 years of age.

Tackle caries: If you are already suffering from caries, use a medicated tooth cream to keep them under control. These contain calcium and phosphate in special formulation that help reverse tooth decay. If the problem is severe, consult a dentist who can recommend the right formulation and brand to you.

Avoid untimely sugary treats: Avoid snacking on sugary items in between meals. You should also avoid sweetened liquids such as flavoured drinks or soda as prolonged contact with sugary liquids will invariably result in tooth decay. Rinse your mouth with water after having sugary food or drink.

Go for sugarless gum: Chew on sugarless chewing gum as it protects teeth by stimulating extra saliva, and saliva helps protect teeth from decay.

Seal it up: Go for tooth sealants the moment you notice early signs of decay.
