Doctors have reportedly found a simple alternative called conductive keratoplasty for a poor vision.

Bad eyesight one of the inevitable consequences of aging, but now doctors have reportedly found a simple cure to the problem, called CK or conductive keratoplasty.

According to a report in Ivanhoe, CK is gaining popularity in the US as an effective treatment for 'presbyopia' or 'old-age-sight' and involves using radio frequency energy emitted through a very small wand or probe that is pressed into, but not through, the outer wall of the eye.

In less than seven minutes, the eyes are given new shape, which improves the focusing power. The treatment does not however, mean the removal of glasses completely, but does help in improving eyesight to a large extent.

CK is believed to be far safer than Lasik surgery because it does not use lasers to correct the condition.

"It's as if somebody tightened the belt around the cornea. The centre part gets much steeper and that sharpens the focusing power," the report quoted ophthalmologist Marguerite McDonald, of the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.

"It is the best thing I have ever done in my life. It was the most wonderful experience to be able to pick up my grandchildren and look at him without any glasses," said Kay kerrigan, who got the operation done.
