Ant-Man trailer: Marvel's big risk with an all-new superhero
Marvel's Ant-Man comics series may not have been as big a hit as their other works like Ironman or Spiderman, but the trailer of the new film shows promise with very positive comments on YouTube.
After releasing an 'ant-sized' teaser last week, Marvel finally revealed a 'human-sized' trailer for its upcoming superhero flick Ant-Man. The trailer, featuring Parks and Recreation actor Paul Rudd in the lead, was released during the Agent Carter premiere on ABC Tuesday.

The almost two-minute long video is picking up steadily on YouTube and has earned as many as 4 lakh views in mere four hours. And if the comment section is any indicator of public reception, it is mostly very welcoming of Rudd's superhero avatar and Marvel's pluck in going ahead with a theme as strange as this one.
The trailer introduces us to Scott Lang (played by Rudd), a conman, who is being talked into starting his life over by his mentor Dr Henry 'Hank' Pym (played by Michael Douglas).
Pym is developer of the technology that enables Ant-Man to shrink in size.
"I need you to be the Ant-Man," he says to Scott.
"One question," Scott responds. "Is it too late to change the name?"
The trailer runs on a very serious note but for moments when Paul opens his mouth. Even a slight 'huh?' sounds funny enough to deserve a chuckle. And in spite of the great promise shown by the trailer, one cannot ignore the risk Marvel has undertaken in actually going ahead in making a movie on a man with ant-like abilities. At this point, it is difficult to imagine what would make Paul Rudd's character badass enough for it to be counted among the likes of Spiderman, Ironman, Captain America and others.
Ant-Man also stars Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale and Michael Peña and is directed by Peyton Reed. It hits theatres on July 17 this year.
