Ratner, 43, seems to have developed a rapport with Hirithik after editing the English version of Kites, which also starred Mexican beauty Barbara Mori.
Hrithik watched his film Tower Heist and complimented the director on Twitter. "@BrettRatner long time! just watchedTower Heist! Super film! Brilliantly directed! Ur d man brett! hope alls well... Cheers my friend(sic)."
To which Ratner replied, "@iHrithik Thank u... I heardyour (sic) in the biggest hit in India.. Can't wait to seeit.. Working on a big idea for us to collaborate!"
Ratner, known for his films like Rush Hour and TheFamily Man, was set to produce this year's Oscars show but had to step down after he made a gay slur while promoting Tower Heist.
Kites, released in 2010, was a big-budget production by Rakesh Roshan which failed to hit the big time at the box office.
