With a ripped body and a mass of pure muscle, actor Jake Gyllenhaal is all set to play a middleweight boxer struggling to make a comeback for his upcoming movie.
The 33-year-old, who lost nearly 14 kg to play an unhinged videographer in Nightcrawler, has transformed himself again for the sports drama Southpaw, reports people.com.
He will be seen as a complete jacked and ripped beast, with 15 pounds of pure muscle, as he plays Junior Middleweight Champion Billy 'The Great' Hope, a lefty champ who loses everything in a personal tragedy and is forced to fight his way to redemption
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film also stars Forest Whitaker, Rachel McAdams, Curtis Jackson and Naomie Harris.
"Jake is going to change how people see him. I had him training twice a day in the boxing ring," Fuqua told Deadline.com.
"We literally turned him into a beast," he added.
