When producer Simon Kinberg called the third Wolverine a ‘different film’, little did we know what he meant. But everything from its name (Logan) to its tone (R-rated) is teasing a superhero film unlike any we’ve seen before. Yes. When they said it’s going to be different, they really meant it - at least when it comes to mainstream superhero films, and not movies like Sin City or Kick Ass.
“Nature made me a freak, man made me a weapon, and God made it last too long,” says Logan in the 6-second clip, tweeted by star Hugh Jackman on Wednesday, a teaser for the first proper trailer that is due out tonight.
Director James Mangold also tweeted our best look at Hugh Jackman in character yet. The third Wolverine film is said to be based on the Old Man Logan arc from the comics and will also feature Patrick Stewart in a supporting role.

With the state of superhero films being what it is right now, we need more movies like Logan. The genre needs a shot of adrenaline and that’s exactly what an R-rated, black and white, western-themed superhero film is going to do.
Logan is scheduled for a March 3, 2017 release.
