Actor Meryl Streep was so determined to make the film, The Iron Lady, that she slashed her fee and donated the rest to charity. The actor plays the former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the film, which tells the story of Thatcher’s rise to power and her role as the country’s first female leader. Streep, apparently, cut her salary and then donated the fee to help fund America’s National Women’s History Museum.
