Little-known US actress Rooney Mara, 25 has clinched the coveted lead role in the The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, beating off competition from biggies like Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.

Little-known US actress Rooney Mara, 25 has clinched the coveted lead role in the The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, beating off competition from biggies like Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.
The brunette will play Lisbeth Salander, the lesbian hacker, opposite Daniel Craig. Mara had appeared in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street.
