The Emoji Movie: Trailer manages to divide the internet within hours of releasing
The international trailer for The Emoji Movie has managed to divide the internet with reactions good, bad and ugly.
The Emoji Movie was always a bad idea according to the Internet. People mostly saw the announcement as Hollywood running out of new and original ideas and were anyway not expecting much from Sony Pictures Entertainment’s animation flick. The production house went ahead with the movie anyway, and dropped its first international trailer on May 16.
Within just a few hours since release, the trailer got quite a lot of attention, but one cannot really say that it was a good thing. While some social media users did approve of it and thought that it could be a great movie, many bashed it for being boring and lacking imagination. What was the nail in the coffin? Many even noticed similarities between the movie and three of the most popular animated flicks of recent times — Inside Out, Wreck It Ralph and The Lego Movie. Have a look at the trailer below:
