The Brit actor, who played the nun Maria who fell in love with Plummer's character Captain von Trapp, asserted that they should have ended together and they should have had a huge smashing affair but there was no time because she had her children with her, which was most inconvenient, ABC News reported.

The 79-year-old actor continued that she was not terribly happy at the time and she was quite lonely and her marriage with her first husband was rocky.

Andrews concluded that she and Plummer were never an item.
