Jimmy Kimmel, who will host the 89th Academy Awards, is disappointed that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool was snubbed by Oscar voters.
Oscars host, Jimmy Kimmel is disappointed that Deadpool, starring Ryan Reynolds, got snubbed by the voters.
In the run-up to the prestigious ceremony, the 49-year-old talk show host has said the industry is biased to nominate only a particular type of films at the Academy Awards, reported Variety.

“I would have liked to have seen Deadpool get nominated. I do think there’s a certain type of movie that’s not considered for awards. It’s a shame, because there’s nothing serious about the movies; they’re an escape,” Kimmel said.
Kimmel added that comedy films “are also underappreciated” and that “maybe too much gravity (is) applied to the nomination process”.
