As relief efforts continue amid the flood crisis, an Assam MLA brought professional beauticians to flood relief camps to provide free personal grooming services to flood-affected people.

Mahmora’s MLA Suruj Dehingia brought the team from Moran-based men’s and women’s salon Khati Swag to camps in his constituency, offering grooming and personal care services such as haircuts, face washes, and threading, as reported by India Today NE.

While the state government has been providing essential relief, including food, clothing and financial aid, the MLA said the initiative was intended to help women regain their sense of dignity, supporting their mental well-being and providing emotional relief during the crisis.

The move drew mixed reactions online, with some users appreciating the gesture while others criticised its essentiality during a flood crisis, calling it “unnecessary” and “useless”. “Anything except helping others,” one user commented, while another wrote, “GRWM for flood.”
