The incident occurred last night and the boy allegedly posted his suicide note, written in Hindi, on a social media website and messaging application, they said.

The note has a line saying “if you want to see me, come to the store room”, the police said, adding that he claimed he was taking the extreme step as “nobody loved him” and as “punishment”.

The police said it is probing if the boy had taken the online Blue Whale challenge, which allegedly incites players to commit suicide.

However, the boy’s father in his statement said his son was unwell and had attempted suicide earlier also, they said.
