7 crushed to death in UP accident

A group of kanwariyas were walking in the middle of the road with a DJ playing loud music. The driver of the truck coming from behind apparently lost control of the wheel which led to the accident.

Seven persons, including a few kanwariyas and two children, were crushed to death early on Tuesday when a truck laden with wheat bags overturned on them. Six persons were also injured.

According to reports, the incident took place in Harora village.

Some kanwariyas and people at a shop nearby were crushed. Locals immediately started the rescue operation. As the police rushed to the spot they brought in a crane to remove the wheat bags and the truck.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh each for the kin of the deceased and ₹50,000 each for those injured.
