The five-year old boy, a student of SPR Vidya Concept School in Chirala-Perala town, had on February 3 mixed his urine in a fruit juice bottle of a classmate. He, however, told the girl and asked her not to drink the juice, police inspector PA Suryanarayana said.

The girl went out of the classroom crying and complained to Vijay Kumar, a physical training teacher, who was doing the rounds, Suryanarayana said.

Kumar called the boy and forced him to drink the urine-mixed juice. “The boy pleaded with the teacher to excuse him but he did not let him go till he consumed the entire juice,” Suryanarayana said.

The parents spoke to the teacher after the boy told them about the punishment. The teacher said the boy deserved to be punished, police said.

The parents lodged a police complaint the same evening and the teacher was arrested on Monday.

“After questioning the teacher, we registered a case against under Section 270 (resorting to malignant act likely to spread infection dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 75 of the juvenile justice (care and protection) act and arrested him,” the inspector said.
