Bihar exam row will be investigated from criminal angle: Nitish Kumar

Reacting to the ‘expose’ of toppers of 10+2 examinations conducted by Bihar School Examination Board, chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said no one will be spared and action would be taken after fixing responsibility in the matter.

Reacting to the ‘expose’ of toppers of 10+2 examinations conducted by Bihar School Examination Board, chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday said no one will be spared and action would be taken after fixing responsibility in the matter.

“No one will be spared. Such an incident has happened and steps would be taken to ensure that there should not be any scope for such things in future. A thorough probe would be conducted into the incident. Whether or not any criminality is involved would also be probed,” he said.

“Last year, photographs of students using unfair means in matriculation examination appeared. We took stern action. This year, we successfully checked cheating in matriculation examination. Education department is looking into the matter (10+2 toppers). I will also keep a tab on it,” Kumar told reporters here.

The BSEB on Saturday cancelled the result of science topper and another rank holder after a retest of 13 toppers of Arts and Science streams.

Rest 11 toppers who had appeared for the retest and interview before an expert team have been found excellent and given clean chit, the Board Chairman had said.

Kumar, also the national president of JD(U) was replying to reporters’ queries at the launch of party’s membership campaign.
