CCTV footage has emerged of a white SUV chasing DJ Varnika Kundu’s black car that seems to confirm her account of being trailed on the streets of Chandigarh and terrorised allegedly by the Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala’s son.

Earlier on Monday, the police had said that no video was available because CCTV cameras on the route where Varnika was harassed were not functioning. The police have rejected speculation that it is under pressure to engineer a cover-up for the BJP, which rules Haryana.

Twenty-three--year-old Vikas Barala and his friend have been accused by Varnika, the daughter of an IAS officer, of stalking and trying to kidnap her. The two men are out on bail.
