CRPF arrest Hizbul Mujahideen militant in Kashmir

Security forces apprehended a Hizbul Mujahideen militant in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, police said on Thursday.

A joint team of army, CRPF and police apprehended Hilal Ahmad Bhat from Dahwatoo in Awantipora area last night following a tip-off, a police official said.

He said two Chinese grenades, one camouflage uniform, one knife and some other incriminating material were recovered from Bhat’s possession.

Bhat had joined the Hizbul Mujahideen ranks recently, the official said adding a case under relevant sections of the Ranbir Penal Code have been registered against him.
