Daughter of NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar's associate found dead in Baramati, probe on
The teen daughter left home on Saturday night after allegedly being scolded by her mother.
The 15-year-old daughter of Nationalist Congress Party-Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) MLA Rohit Pawar’s personal assistant was found dead near her residential building at Baramati in Pune district on Sunday, a day after she was reported missing, police said, adding that a probe is underway into the circumstances of her death.
According to an officer, she left home on Saturday night after allegedly being scolded by her mother. When she did not return, her family searched for her and informed the police.
Teen found dead in drain
At around 8.30 am on Sunday, she was found dead in a drain near her residence. Police sent the body for a post-mortem examination at Baramati Medical College, the officer said.

Case of kidnapping registered
Additional superintendent of police (ASP) Ganesh Biradar of the Baramati division said the girl, whom police identified as around 15 years old, was reported missing after the family informed them. “The parents informed the police, following which we immediately began searching the neighbourhood. A case of kidnapping was registered, and three teams were formed to trace the girl. At around 8.30 am, we received information about the girl and reached the spot,” Biradar said.

Police found a terrace with a latch near where the body was recovered, along with the girl’s footwear. They are also examining her communication with a boy using her mother’s mobile phone. Both phones have been seized for forensic examination, Biradar said, adding the autopsy report is awaited.
“Some wound marks have also been found on the body. The forensic examination and post-mortem will help us establish what happened,” he said.
Pawar visited Baramati after being informed about the incident and urged police to conduct a detailed probe. “My private assistant’s 15-year-old daughter went missing last night, and a police complaint was filed. After the family and police searched for her, her body was found near their building at around 8.30 am today. Her post-mortem is underway,” he said on Sunday.
A case under Section 137 of the BNS, relating to kidnapping or abducting a child, has been registered, police said.
