The FIR was registered against Sadhvi Prachi based on a complaint lodged by Sandeep Kumar of Bahujan Mukti Morcha who alleged that her statement in which she had pitched for a “Muslim free country” in Uttrakhand recently, hurt communal feelings, they said.

The FIR has been registered under IPC 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion), IPC 153 B (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration), SHO, Unnao, Sanjay Pandey said.

Known for courting controversies, Sadhvi Prachi had claimed the mission of a Congress-free country has already been “accomplished” and it is now time to make India free of Muslims.

“Now that we have achieved the mission of making a Congress-free India, it is time to make India Muslim-free. We are working on that,” she said in Roorkee, where at least 32 people were injured in a clash between two communities over forcible evacuation of a scrap dealer’s shop on June 7.
