Jaisalmer man abducted, brutally assaulted, nose cut off: Police
The attackers allegedly broke his hands and legs and cut off his nose with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing after villagers chased them
A 27-year-old man was allegedly abducted at gunpoint and brutally assaulted by a group of men while he was returning home with three children in his camper vehicle in Jaisalmer district on Thursday evening, police said.
The attackers allegedly broke his hands and legs and cut off his nose with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing after villagers chased them.
Sankra SHO Ran Singh Sodha while confirming the development said that the incident took place around 7pm near the Rajgarh-Khelana border area.
“Rajgarh resident Jamal Khan, son of Farid Khan, was returning home from Bhainsda with three children when two vehicles followed him and forced him to stop.
The accused allegedly took him into their vehicle at gunpoint and abducted him,” the SHO said.

According to SHO Sodha, the accused took Jamal to an isolated location towards the Rajgarh-Khelana border and allegedly attacked him with sticks and sharp-edged weapons. “The assault was severe. His hands and legs were broken and his nose was cut with a sharp-edged weapon,” he said.
The incident came to light when some villagers passing through the area heard cries for help. Suspecting something was wrong, they followed the attackers’ vehicles. Police said the accused, fearing that they were being surrounded, allegedly dumped Jamal in an injured condition by the roadside and fled.
Villagers informed the police and took the injured man to Sankra hospital. After receiving preliminary treatment, Jamal was referred to Pokaran due to the seriousness of his injuries. Doctors at Pokaran subsequently referred him to Jodhpur for further treatment.
SHO Sodha said a case has been registered against six to seven people from Jamal’s own village, Rajgarh, based on his statement.
“The preliminary investigation suggests that the incident may be linked to an old rivalry. Police teams are conducting raids at possible locations to arrest the accused. Further investigation is underway,” he said.
