The woman was remanded by a local court to 14 days of judicial custody, her lawyers told reporters.
She was booked under section 109 (abetment to suicide) under the BNS, said police.
The video in question was recorded during a bus journey she took from Payyanur to Kozhikode. It was posted last week on social media and was widely shared, acquiring two million views within days. The man was found dead on January 18.
“The police have filed the remand report. We will examine it and file a bail application soon. Since the matter is under the purview of the court, I cannot divulge more details,” the woman’s lawyer said.
