In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, voting will be held for electing representatives to the 543-member Lower House of the Indian Parliament. The results will be announced on June 4. Support of at least 272 MPs in the Lok Sabha is required to form the government at the Centre.
All eyes will be on two major political alliances namely, the INDIA bloc and the NDA, who are the major competitors in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024. While the INDIA bloc comprises of political parties like the Congress, the AAP, the TMC etc. NDA has the BJP, the PMK, the JDU etc. as its member parties. Ruling NDA government is aiming to secure the mandate to form the government for a third consecutive term. The alliance is targeting to win more than 400 seats in the Lok Sabha.
Besides voting for the 543 Lok Sabha seats, the Election Commission of India has also announced Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Odisha, as well as assembly bypolls for 26 vacant seats.

Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Updates: Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Sekhawat officially submitted his nomination from the Jodhpur Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday.
Having served as an MP from Jodhpur twice before, Sekhawat is now vying for another term in the Lower House in the upcoming general elections. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who accompanied Sekhawat during the nomination filing, expressed confidence in his victory.
Sharma emphasised Sekhawat's track record of significant wins in 2014 and 2019, predicting an even more considerable margin of victory in the upcoming elections.
The Jodhpur constituency is slated to vote for the Lok Sabha on April 26.

Lok Sabha Election 2024 Live Updates: The Communist Party of India (CPI) received a notice from the Income Tax Department sometime back regarding some discrepancies due to the use of old PAN cards by some state units of the Communist Party of India, said General Secretary of CPI, D Raja.
"We have received the income tax notice for the use of the old PAN card," CPI leader D Raja said to news agency ANI.
On being asked if the party received any notice from IT in regard to a particular amount, Raja, clarified, saying, "They did not receive any notice from IT in regard to money."
