Three men allegedly beat to death an unidentified man in a village in Haryana’s Palwal district on Friday, police said
on Saturday, announcing the arrest of the suspects who are brothers.

The incident comes amid concerns of a growing trend of mob violence in the country, with many victims being alleged cow smugglers.
“One of the brothers saw someone cut a net covering their cattle and alerted the others. They chased him down and assaulted him fatally,” said a policeman investigating the case.
The police were hopeful of identifying the victim soon, who the suspects said had arrived in a group with more men. The others escaped.
“The deceased seemed to be from a poor family, the investigating officer said.
