Nine people were killed and six others injured on Wednesday when a state-run bus hit a jeep near here due to poor visibility because of dense fog, the police said.

The Lucknow-bound bus dashed against the jeep in Chokaghat area under Ramnagar police station, claiming the lives of nine passengers in the jeep, they said.

Six others injured were hospitalised.
