Prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated the Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders sworn in to the Maharashtra cabinet earlier in the day. 18 politicians - nine from each party - were sworn in by governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
"Congratulations to all those who took oath as Ministers in the #Maharashtra Government today. This team is a great blend of administrative experience and the passion to deliver good governance. My best wishes to them for serving the people of the state," the PM said.
The new cabinet consists of Sudhir Mungantiwar, Chandrakant Patil, Girish Mahajan, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Girish Mahajan, Vijay Kumar Gavit, Ravindra Chavan, Mangal Prabhat Lodha,Atul Save, and Suresh Khade from the BJP while in the Shinde camp, Dada Bhuse, Uday Samant, Sandeepan Bhumare,Deepak Kesarkar, Shambhuraj Desai, Abdul Sattar, Tanaji Sawant, Gulabrao Patil, and Sanjay Rathod have taken oath as ministers.

Chief minister Eknath Shinde, whose revolt against the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction of the Sena triggered the change in government, said his cabinet would work starting today.

Shinde was sworn in as the CM on June 30 after his rebellion against Uddhav Thackeray which led to the collapse of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra.
