RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s car damaged on Yamuna Expressway, none injured

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was unhurt after his car collided with another vehicle in his motorcade on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday was unhurt after his car collided with another vehicle in his motorcade on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district, police said.

RSS spokesperson Manmohan Vaidya said Bhagwat was on his way to Vrindavan from New Delhi.

According to Baijnath Singh, the in charge of Sureer police station, the mishap occurred at 8.30am at 84 Milestone on the expressway.

Singh said the accident happened after the pilot car in Bhagwat’s cavalcade had a flat tyre bringing it to a sudden halt. Drivers of the other vehicles had to apply brake causing a pileup.

“The car following that of Mohan Bhagwat rammed into his vehicle and caused a damage to its rear bumper. There was no injury and the damaged car of the RSS chief was replaced,” Singh said.

He added after Bhagwat’s car was replaced, the cavalcade moved on for Vrindavan.

Bhagwat is scheduled to inaugurate the Mansi Dhyan Kendra at Nikunj Van Ashram of Kaushal Kishore Maharaj in Vrindavan. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and yoga guru Ramdev will also be present during the ceremony.
