Until now, the world’s largest start-up incubator was Station F, based in Paris, with a total built-up area of 370,000 square feet. However, the Hyderabad campus, T-Hub, will now be the biggest in the world with a built-up area of over 582,000 sq ft, an official release said.
The T-Hub is a public-private partnership venture, involving the state government and three premier academic institutes – the International Institute of Information Technology-Hyderabad (IIIT-H), the Indian School of Business (ISB), and the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law.
The first phase of T-Hub was launched at IIT-Hyderabad in 2015. It is a 70,000 sqft campus called Catalyst and has rented out office and meeting space for nearly 300 start-ups, and offers services such as connections with mentors and investors, to the start-up companies, according to the release.
Second phase of T-Hub, built at ₹276 crore, will house more than 2,000 start-ups, corporates, investors, academia, and national and international ecosystem enablers, the release said.
