Son of a farmer, 30-year-old Ronanki taught at a primary school in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district. “I saw my parents work very hard for a living. I always wanted to work for society and for the upliftment of my family. Hence, I decided to join the civil services,” Ronanki said at the felicitation ceremony.

The young officer told the gathering that he cleared the exam in Telugu.

Addressing the young bureaucrats, Singh said, “Be alert to scrutiny. Your action as civil servants will always be under watch.”

Ronanki was among the 20 toppers who were felicitated by the ministry of personnel.
