Three years on, CBI arrests judge for murder of wife in Gurgaon

Three years after the murder of Geetanjali Garg in a park in Gurgaon, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday arrested her husband, Ravneet Garg, who is the chief judicial magistrate at Kaithal.

Garg was produced before CBI special magistrate Kapil Rathi in Panchkula after which he was remanded in five-day police custody.

A murder case was registered in Gurgaon. The CBI took over the case after Geetanjali’s parents urged then Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to ensure an independent inquiry.

Geetanjali’s parents have been alleging that she was harassed for dowry.

The CBI announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information in the case but in vain.

Ravneet Garg underwent a lie detection test and brain mapping.

Both Ravneet and Geetanjali are from Panchkula.
