Five persons were arrested for carrying 70 quintals of cow meat at Rajakarampur near Pahara village in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.
Five persons were arrested for carrying 70 quintals of cow meat at Rajakarampur near Pahara village in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.
During a routine police check, the team was tipped off on Monday of a vehicle carrying cow meat. When police tried to stop the vehicle its occupants fired at them forcing retaliation.

Two country-made pistols, cartridges were seized.
The accused were identified as Kaleem, Sonu, Durgesh, Vijaysingh and Radheshyam who confessed that they were transporting cow meat from Bhargain to Delhi for sale.
A case was registered and vehicle seized.
