The Uttarakhand high court has said protests against its orders or judgements was a “dangerous trend” and directed all district magistrates in the state not to allow any demonstrations or sit-ins.
Several vehicle owners had taken out a procession in Ramnagar a few days ago after the high court restricted the number of vehicles, hired by tourists for safaris in Corbett and Rajaji tiger reserves, to not more than 100 per day.
“We have also come across a number of news items whereby the persons were permitted to organise processions, dharnas against the judgments/orders passed by the courts with impunity. This is a dangerous trend. This should not be permitted at all,” the court said in its order issued on Thursday.
A bench of acting chief justice Rajiv Sharma and justice Lok Pal Singh, however, said the aggrieved persons have a right to take legal recourse.
The high court also made it clear that only 20 private and commercial Gypsies will be permitted to inside the Sitabani zone in Corbett.
“The local inhabitants of the area and the devotees are permitted to visit Sitabani temple on the basis of the pass obtained from the office of the concerned divisional forest officer. He/she shall maintain a proper record. The vigil shall be kept against the persons who are frequent visitors of this core/sensitive/ critical area,” the court said.

{{/usCountry}}It also said according to the affidavit filed by the Uttarakhand government a proposal for the rehabilitation of those who have encroached upon the forest land has been approved by the state forest minister and it has already been sent to the confidential department with a request to place it before chief minister and cabinet.
It directed the state government that the status report is filed on or before August 23, the next date of hearing.
