1 labourer dies in road mishap

A 22-year-old labourer died after a speeding car rammed a mini truck on Feroze Shah Road, near Mandi House, early on Sunday. The police said that five labourers were sitting inside the Tata 407 truck, which overturned due to the impact.

The car driver, identified as Vishal Arora (27), was speeding on his way back home in his SX4 car around 5.30 am when he hit the truck from behind. The empty truck overturned, leaving all the five occupants trapped inside.

“Rajendra Yadav, 22, died on the spot while two persons, including the truck driver, sustained minor injuries.

A passerby informed the police and the victims were taken to a nearby hospital,” a senior police officer said.
