11 killed in road accident near Nagpur
At least eleven persons, including four women and three children were killed and several others injured after a speeding truck hit a passenger jeep near Mansar on Nagpur-Jabalpur road, some 50km from Nagpur, on Wednesday afternoon.
At least eleven persons, including four women and three children were killed and several others injured after a speeding truck hit a passenger jeep near Mansar on Nagpur-Jabalpur road, some 50km from Nagpur, on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports reaching here this evening, the tragedy occurred when a passenger jeep was on its way to Jabalpur from Nagpur. The truck, coming from the opposite direction, could not control its speed and hit the jeep. Nine persons died on the spot while two others succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The Nagpur rural police informed that seven injured were admitted to the Mayo general hospital at Nagpur and of them three were reported to be critical. Almost all the victims were from Nagpur.
The truck driver fled away from the scene after the accident.
