Two top commanders of pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen, including a self-styled divisional commander, were killed and one Special Police Officer (SPO) injured on Tuesday in a fierce gunbattle with police and army troops in Doda district, official sources said.

Acting on a tip off, a joint operation by police and troops launched a cordon and search operation in Keendhar belt of Gandoh tehsil of Doda early on Tuesday, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Doda, Manohar Singh said.
During the search operation, an encounter took place in the area, which lasted for over three hours, the SSP said adding that two Hizb terrorists were killed.
They were identified as Hizb Divisional Commander Mushtaq Ahmed and section commander Abdul Lateef, Singh said.
One SPO Naresh was injured in the gunbattle and has been hospitalised, he said adding that two AK rifles, three magazines, and some explosives were recovered.
