"There is a lot of demand for pilots and technicians. Plenty of jobs will be available with the opening of the civil aviation sector. This will come through a number of technical and non-technical services", said Patel, while inaugurating an annual inter-college technology festival at the IIT campus.
Aviation, just like IT, would generate a lot of job opportunities and it would lead to economic progress, Patel said.
He said that this would be an opportunity for the educated youth to demonstrate their skills.
"About 55 crore Indians are in the age group of 20 to 25 years and it is a challenge for us to provide them with job opportunities," he added.
