Three persons have been detained and are being questioned in connection with burglary at the palace of Ranjitsinhji Maharaj in Jamnagar, police said on Sunday.
They are suspected to have some information about the robbery that came to light last week when the security personnel of the palace informed the police there has been a break-in and some things were missing, they said.
The police, however, refrained from divulging any details about the persons.
Meanwhile, sources said that the present owner of the property Jam Shatrushaliaji, who is a descendant of Ranjitsinhji and living in Mumbai, has reached here and inspected the palace.
With his arrival the mystery over things stolen from the palace could soon be over.
The caretaker of the palace Krishnasinh Jadejain in his police complaint had said that a number of antiques, belonging to Ranjitsinhji and his descendant Digvijaysinhji, including jewellery made out of gold and silver, weapons and other items were stolen.
According to the police, the robbery might have taken place any time in the past fortnight.
