Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM), Panposh, Amar Kumar Das found the four responsible for the suicide of the daughter-in-law of the family Jayanti Barik.
Jayanti, who married to Dambarudhar in May 2003 of Rourkela had committed suicide on April 1, 2006. Before her death she had written to her parents about her in-law's demand for Rs 50,000 as dowry and the physical and mental torture she had been inflicted by them.
The judge convicted Dambarudhar, his mother, elder brother and sister-in-law under various section of Dowry Prevention Act.
