Five Iraqis were killed and 13 including five soldiers wounded, as insurgents struck in Baghdad with mortars, bombs and gunfire early on Sunday, an interior ministry official said.

Two civilians were killed and six wounded when a mortar shell landed on a house in central Baghdad, and two more civilians were hurt when another mortar shell fell in an east Baghdad street.
Another three civilians in a car were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the south of the capital.
Meanwhile five Iraqi soldiers were wounded when their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in the centre of town.
Late on Saturday, two Iraqi intelligence officers were found shot dead in a car in western Baghdad, the official added.
