The six legislators, Paresh Dhanani, Jagdish Thakore, Baldevji Thakore, Manish Giletwala, Punja Vyas and Chhabildas Patel, were asked to leave the House by the Speaker after Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ashok Bhatt proposed their suspension and moved a resolution successfully.

The assembly earlier witnessed pandemonium during the question hour when a Congress member accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of being a "broker". This resulted in an exchange of abuses and derogatory terms between the infuriated Urban Development Minister IK Jadeja and the opposition.

Following the suspension of the six members, Congress legislators staged a walkout from the House.
