73-year-old Indian woman runs Malaysian race

A 73-year-old Malaysian-Indian woman has become the oldest participant in an annual running competition in Malaysia. Sinnaponnu Seenivasan from Kepong was in the limelight after completing the 3.5 km race in the Siemens Run 2010 under its Dream Run category.

A 73-year-old Malaysian-Indian woman has become the oldest participant in an annual running competition in Malaysia.

Sinnaponnu Seenivasan from Kepong was in the limelight after completing the 3.5 km race in the Siemens Run 2010 under its Dream Run category.

She caught the eyes of everyone Sunday when she completed the race dressed in a batik sarong and blouse, New Straits Times reported.

Sinnaponnu, who has been participating in the event for the last 30 years, was awarded a participation certificate and RM 1,000 ($308) as a token of appreciation.
